The Grand Ole Opry used to celebrate its anniversary/birthday with a great Saturday night show. Then over the years, it expanded to include the Friday Night Opry. Now, it is an entire week of celebration as the Grand Ole Opry turns 97.

Getting it all started will be the Tuesday Night Opry, featuring Grand Ole Opry members Chris Young, Carly Pearce, John Conlee, Charlie McCoy and Jeannie Seely. They will be joined by Drew Baldridge, Kat & Alex, and making her Opry debut, Tasha Cobbs Leonard.

Tuesday October 4
7:00: Jeannie Seely, Drew Baldridge, John Conlee, Alex & Kat
Intermission
8:15: Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Charlie McCoy, Carly Pearce, Chris Young

After this wonderful looking Tuesday night show, The Wednesday Night Opry will feature Opry members Connie Smith and Jamey Johnson, who seems to be making regular stops on the Wednesday night show. They will be joined by Breland, frequent Opry guest Maggie Rose, The Cleverlys, comedian Brian Bates, Julie Roberts and making his Opry debut, Drake Milligan.

Many will remember Drake as being a Top 3 contestant on Season 17 of America's Got Talent. He also has had two #1 hits on the iTunes Country Songs charts, "Kiss Goodbye All Night" and "Sounds Like Something I'd Do." He also has hit the top of the iTunes Albums chart. And yes, he did play Elvis.

I would have to check for sure, but it seems to me that it has been a while since Julie Roberts has been on the Opry.

Finally, to finish up the mid-week Opry shows, Opry Country Classics returns on Thursday night with another strong lineup hosted by Opry member Larry Gatlin and featuring Opry members Chris Janson, Mandy Barnett, and of course, Larry and Rudy. Filling out the lineup will be Michael Ray and Jim Lauderdale

There you have it for the mid-week shows as the Opry kicks off the celebration of year 97. Depending on when you read this, I will either be on my way to Nashville, or already there, and will be at all of the Opry shows this week. I am sure I will see a few of you there.
